Caption: This action occurred on 8 June 1794, when Captain Joseph Ellison's ship, HMS DRUID (36 guns), with HMS CRESCENT (36 guns), and HMS EURYDICE (20 guns), was attacked by a French squadron of two 54 gun ships, two 36 gun frigates, a corvette, and a brig. The British ships were able to escape with minor damage.
