Title: Minas Gerais Statue
Caption: The Minas Gerais Statue was presented to The Brooklyn Naval Hospital in September 1921 by the crew of The Brazilian Battleship MINA SGERAIS in Gratitude for the medical assistance rendered their ship when an epidemic broke out on her as she lay moored to the pier beside the Brooklyn Naval Shipyard on 24 August 1920. When the Brooklyn Naval Hospital was dis-established the statue was transferred to the Naval Hospital at St. Albans, New York.
