Title: Weapons, British
Caption: British naval blunderbuss, early 1700s. Heavy iron barrel, octagon at breech, round from midsection forward, 20" long and 2" I.D. at muzzle. Early lock with small GR cypher and broad arrow, George I. Heavy brass furniture of 1690-1720 period. Base of buttplate and top flat of barrel marked K.S. 271 (King's stores). Stock shows distinct traces of black paint applied as preservative to many naval arms. Imported from England.
