Title: Insignia: USS ENTERPRISE (CVAN-65)
Caption: This emblem was adopted in 1961. Enclosed in an outer circle of navy blue and gold is a gold outlined "Big E," the traditional nickname of both aircraft carriers named ENTERPRISE (CVE-6 and CVAN-65). The two hemispheres represent the ship's home waters, around the Americas, and her ability to strike any part of the globe. The carrier and the nuclear emblem in the center symbolizes ENTERPRISE's nuclear capabilities and power. This emblem was received from USS ENTERPRISE (CVAN-65) in 1970.
