Caption: This emblem, adopted after a design contest within the unit in 1969, was designed by Lieutenant Commander Paul W. Garber, USNR. The blue and gold colors represent the Navy, while the gray sky symbolizes the gray-painted hulls of wartime merchantmen, and the serious nature of the unit's mission.
