Caption: This plaque was received from the ship in 1970. The three divisions of its shield represent the ship's namesake counties in Wyoming, Montana, and Colorado. The colors blue and gold are those of the Navy. The red symbolizes courage. PARK COUNTY's participation in World War II and Korea is depicted by the two stars. The trident represents the striking power of the ship. The cornucopia, symbol of abundance, is covered with spikes to symbolize an armed naval vessel. The armored hand and sword represent PARK COUNTY's cargo of tanks and troops.
