This vessel was 128 feet long, 48 feet broad, and carried 106 heavy cannon. Note the sail under the bowsprit. 6. Front view of a Venetian galley. in the thirteenth century, galleys were the only vessels of war employed on the Mediterranean. 7. Ship of the line OCEAN, carrying 108 guns, built under Louis XVI. 2. Five guns usually stood on a Genoese prow and on the side, several swivels and swans' necks.
