NH 71157 Dredging machine

Dredging machine
Title: Dredging machine
Caption: Common dredging machine which was most serviceable on flat and gravelly bottoms. It consisted of a flat-bottomed boat, which was towed by a vessel to the place where it was to be used. The tow-ropes ran on a windlass, so that the position of the boat could be changed without tacking the ship.
