Title: Naval hospital, Madras, India.
Caption: Engraving published in the Naval Chronicle, Vol. 25, London, 1811. This hospital, capable of accommodating 500 patients, was built about 1810. The larger building at right is for the use of the enlisted men. The next building over has the dispensary of its ground floor, and a dinning room and bedrooms for the Lt. Governor and dispenser on the second floor. The third building contains the hospital for sick officers ad quarters of the governor, while the left most structure is for the surgeon.
