Caption: Aircraft of the Naval Reserve Air Squadron based at Floyd Bennett Field, New York, 1932. These aircraft are preparing to fly to the air races at Cleveland, Ohio. Loyd C Reckner, aviation machinist mate second class, USN, is in the rear cockpit of the squadron commander's aircraft (second in line with a white band around the fuselage aft of the cockpits). Note the squadron insignia on the aircraft fuselages.
