Title: Operation Lorraine
Caption: 10 January 1953 - a naval-land campaign, essentially amphibious, in the Red River Delta near Phu Doan at the intersection of the Chay and Clear rivers, in the hope that the enemy would be forced to end his major offensive in the northwest hill country of North Vietnam. Paratroopers were dropped to the opposite bank of the river then transported across by the Navy at the same time the mobile craft provided ready fire support.
