Caption: Trail of blood on the deck from Seaman Second Class Freddie J. Falgout, killed by splinters from a Chinese antiaircraft shell on 20 August 1937. There were 17 men wounded by the same shell. The magazine that Falgout was reading while waiting for the movies to begin lies on the deck.
