Caption: Photographed off Cherbourg, France, on 10 August 1893 during her sea trials which ran from March to September 1893. The photo caption notes her speed as 24.77 knots, apparently being made at this time. The vessel's maximum speed on trials was 25.44 knots, somewhat higher than the 24.5 knot designed speed.
