Caption: Using an experimental method of assembling a fuel tank base on 6x6 timber. The huge tanks stored aviation gasoline for B-29 bombers on Tinian, October 26, 1944. This method was abandoned and bases were assembled directly on tar paper. Caption furnished by Historian of Mobile Construction Battalions, 1978.
