Photo #: NH 94333 S.S. Leviathan
Title: S.S. Leviathan
Description: (American Passenger Liner, formerly the German Vaterland of 1914) Photographed in April 1922, while en route to Newport News, Virginia, to be reconditioned for commercial service. This ship had served as USS Leviathan (ID # 1326) in 1917-1919, and was then laid up for more than two years. Note her rusty condition, which highlights the rivets in her hull plating.
