Caption: Sergeant Myron Chambers and 2 and half year-old "colonel" Marvin Chambers salute the colors during recruit graduation ceremonies for the 304 series, on 8 April 1965. Young Marvin attended the ceremonies with his father, a drill instructor with "Q" company, 3rd recruit training battalion, in the uniform of a marine colonel wearing the expression of the saltiest seagoing marine alive, he proved to be the high spot of the ceremony.
