Description: (American Motor Boat, 1913) Off New York City, with an amusement park in the background, prior to World War I. The Navy leased this craft for World War I service, placing her in commission as USS Abalone (SP-208) in May 1917. She was returned to her owner on Christmas Eve 1918. U.S. Naval History and Heritage Command Photograph.
