Description: (American Barge, 1897) In port, possibly in the Norfolk, Virginia, area on 3 March 1918, when she was inspected by the Fifth Naval District. Assigned registry ID # 2395, on 7 May 1918 this barge was ordered to be taken over for Navy service. She was reportedly later renamed Coal Barge # 420. The barge partially visible at left is Annie B. Embry, which was assigned registry ID # 2401 and reportedly later became Navy Coal Barge # 421. U.S. Naval History and Heritage Command Photograph.
