Description: (American Fishing Vessel, 1890) In port, possibly on 12 June 1918 when she was inspected by the Sixth Naval District. This menhaden fisherman type steam trawler was acquired by the Navy on 23 June 1918 and commissioned as USS Walter Adams (ID # 400) on 1 October 1918. She was returned to her owner on 10 January 1919. U.S. Naval History and Heritage Command Photograph.
