Description: (American Derrick Barge, 1904) In port, possibly on 6 April 1918 when she was inspected by the Third Naval District. Owned by McAllister Brothers, of New York City, this wooden barge was assigned registry ID # 2729. She was purchased by the Navy under a letter of authorization dated 20 June 1918 and served until 1931 as Floating Derrick # 39, YD-39 and YF-197. U.S. Naval History and Heritage Command Photograph.
