Description: (American Tug, 1892) Photographed circa 1917, possibly after entering Navy service. Built by Browne of Tottenville, New York, in 1892 and owned by the Simmons Transportation Company of New York City, this tug was chartered by the Navy in 1917 and served as Charles P. Kuper (SP-1235) until returned to her owner in 1919. U.S. Naval History and Heritage Command Photograph.
