Description: (American Tug, 1904) In port, circa March 1918. This tug was built in 1904 by the Portland Shipbuilding Company of South Portland, Maine, and owned by the Commercial Towing Company of Boston, Massachusetts. She was inspected by the First Naval District on 7 March 1918 for possible acquisition and assigned the registry ID # 2386. Though ordered taken over on 18 May 1918, this action was not carried out, and she remained in her owner's custody. U.S. Naval History and Heritage Command Photograph.
