Caption: Of patrol squadron 4 (VP-4), based at U.S. Naval Air Facility, Naha, Okinawa, flies past a Japanese merchant ship while on a patrol mission on 27 March 1963. Ship's name looks like HIROSHIMA MARU. Her funnel marking indicates that she belongs to the Nissho Kisen KK shipping line. However, the 1962-63 and 1963-64 Lloyds Registers do not list any ship with this name for this firm.
