Caption: Multi-national crew experiment. Lieutenant Glen Sedam, USN, operations officer, briefs side boys upon the ship's arrival in Washington, D.C., 19 October 1964. This visit allowed officials from the participating nations to observe the demonstration ship and her crew. The sailors in this view are from the navies of the United Sates, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, and Greece. The ship's crew also included men from the Turkish and Dutch navies.
