Caption: The first dollar of revenue was collected at this cock fight by ensign G.E. Gelm USS BENNINGTON under The Old Spanish Law, then in effect, which charged each entry one dollar (Mex). Fight took place after church Sunday and the first payment was made by the Padre, who had the finest fighting cocks on the island. 1899
