USN 902735 Drewry's Bluff

Drewry's Bluff
Title: Drewry's Bluff
Caption: Drewry's Bluff (Fort Darling) on the James River about 3 miles below Richmond, circa 1864. The ship midstream in the center appears to be CSS YORKTOWN (schoolship PATRICK HENRY) of the Confederate Navy. The outboard ship at the extreme right is a Confederate ironclad. This ship appears to be CSS RICHMOND, which was modeled after CSS VIRIGINIA 1 (converted from USS MERRIMACK). However, it may also be CSS VIRIGINIA 2 or CSS FREDERICKSBURG, both Confederate ironclads which operated in the James River.
