Title: Admiralty Camouflage Design, "D" Type
Description: Photo #: 19-N-104899 Admiralty Camouflage Design, D Type Drawing prepared by the Bureau of Ships for a camouflage scheme of British Royal Navy type (and using British paint colors), intended for application to an escort ship of the John C. Butler (DE-339) class. This plan, approved by Captain Torvald A. Solberg, USN, is undated but was probably prepared in August 1944. It shows the ship's port side. Note that this camouflage scheme calls for painting the ship's starboard side in Admiralty Camouflage Design, A Type, probably for comparison purposes during testing at sea.
