Title: NC-3 Trans ATLANTIC Flite
Caption: NC-3 left Trepassy Bay, NFLD., with NC-1 and NC-4 on the night of 16 May 1919. The three planes had departed from NAS Rockaway on 8 May. Only NC-4 made the Trans-Atlantic Flite successfully, reaching the Azores by air on 17 May. After a layover of 10 days, NC-4 covered the last leg of the crossing to Lisbon. In the book "Morale", this painting was captioned: Refusing aid, The NC-3 made port. Lt Ruttan accompanied the Navy Trans-Atlantic Flight Expedition
