Caption: Americans invade Iceland, -with American game of baseball. On the rough, rugged shores of Falcon landing, Hvalfjordur, Iceland, against a stadium-wall of snow capped mountains, officers from USS WICHITA, flagship of the Iceland fleet, take a couple of hours off duty to compete with one another in a softball game. The temperature is just a little under freezing at the time, and snow is about to start falling. Made December 21. Nilsson Hut showing in center field is enlisted men's canteen where they can obtain American beer for 15 cents a can.
