Stackpole, curator of Marine Historical Association Inc., Mr. Philip Mallory, President of Marine Historical Association Inc and Connecticut Governor Abraham Ribicoff. Seen at ceremonies opening The Mystic Seaport Marina on 11 July 1958. They are looking at relics from USS HARTFORD, the flagship of Admiral D. C. Farragut, dedicated at the ceremonies by Governor Ribicoff "in memory of those who served aboard". The Relics -- anchor, cathead, fairlead stantion and chain, are on indefinate loan from curator for department of The Navy. At extreme left is part of Hartford's agangway headboard, loaned from the Naval Academy in 1957.
