NH 65383-KN Insignia: USS CAPE (MSI-2)

Insignia: USS CAPE (MSI-2)
Title: Insignia: USS CAPE (MSI-2)
Caption: Insignia adopted in 1963. It features a seahorse, noted for its strength and stamina, which represents the fighting spirit of USS CAPE. Clad in a red protective cape, the seahorse penetrates a minefield and destroys a mine. The lightning bolt symbolizes the ship's mine countermeasures capabilities. The phrase, "none better," conveys the idea that, though some ships may be larger, none are better than CAPE. This motto also fits in with the concept of the MSI type vessel, and complements the motto of USS COVE (MSI-1): "Some bigger." Photographed in 1968.
