Caption: Khanh Hoi Waterfront area to right receives military cargoes amounting to 210,000 measurement tons monthly which represents one-ninth of one percent of all cargo moved by sea in the world. U.S. Navy Headquarters Support Activity, Saigon, off-loads, stores and distributes incoming cargo: included in this are all the food stuffs consumed by U.S. and allied forces in Vietnam. Ammunition ships off-load their cargoes some ten miles down river at NHA be. Ships transition the 48 twisting miles of Saigon River from the South China Sea (upper right) pass through country in which Viet Cong elements are active.
