Title: Free World Military Assistance Building
Caption: One of the largest construction projects undertaken by U.S. Navy Headquarters Support Activity, Saigon, is the Free World Military Assistance Organization Building which houses contingents from Australia, the Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, the Republic of the Philippines, Thailand, and the United States. Here, Captain Samuel C. Gill (left), Navy Public Works Officer, and Capt. Archie C. Kuntze, Commanding Officer of Saigon Navy Command, review floor plans for offices. The building was competed by Vietnamese construction firms under U.S. Navy contract. Some 200 buildings are installations in the Saigon area have been remodeled or build from the ground up under navy contracts.
