Title: S.S. ANGHYRA (Greek Merchant Cargo Ship, 1923-1955, under this name 1938-1943)
Caption: The ANGHYRA docked at San Francisco, California, in 1942 or 1943. Formerly the German Attika, the ANGHYRA was disabled by fire in 1943 and declared a total loss. War pressures led to her recommissioning as SPARTAN. In 1950 she became one of post war Germany's first ships as HUBERT SCHROEDER, and as such was wrecked off KLAIPEDA in 1955.
