Title: NORD ALEXIS (Haitian gunboat, 1891-1923)
Caption: Photographed at or near Port-Au-Prince, probably in May 1914, from aboard USS NASHVILLE (PG-7). This ship was built as KNIAZ GAGARIN for the (Russian) Black Sea Danube Steam Navigation Co. and sold to Haiti in 1906. She was sold in 1918 to French merchant interests who renamed her MARS; she became the Greek APOSTOLOS D. in 1921 until lost in 1923.
