Caption: On 25 December 1812, the British 40-gun frigate HMS ACASTRA, Captain Alexander Robert Kerr, sighted and chased the American letter-of-marque brig HERALD of 10 guns, when, in a falling calm, sent her boats under the command of Lieutenant James Couch, and, after resistance boarded and carried the brig. Lieutenant Couch received a severe contusion in the leg from the bursting of a gun.
