Caption: Protected cruiser built at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, steel, 7375 tons displacement, by Wm. Cramp and Sons for U.S. Navy. Cruised in Atlantic and European waters. Used for scouting duty in West Indies during Spanish-American War. Engaged in convoy work during World War I. Sold in 1921 for scrap. Pen and ink drawing by Samuel Ward Stanton.
